Terms of Service

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MealSync. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Your continued use of MealSync after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

MealSync is an AI-powered meal planning platform that helps you plan weekly meals, track nutrition and budget, generate shopping lists, and receive personalized recommendations. The service is provided “as is” and features may change over time.

Some features — including AI-powered suggestions, ingredient substitutions, and the AI chat assistant — are available only on paid subscription plans.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Notify us immediately at legal@mealsync.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

MealSync offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (“Pro” and “Basic”). Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on each renewal date.

• Cancellation: you may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
• Refunds: we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days of the charge.
• Price changes: we will give you at least 30 days notice before increasing subscription prices. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

You agree not to:

• Use MealSync for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from MealSync without our written permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the MealSync software or attempt to derive source code.
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any content that could harm MealSync or its users.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Use the AI features to generate or distribute spam, misinformation, or harmful content.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice.

MealSync uses AI language models (provided by Anthropic) to generate meal suggestions, nutritional estimates, ingredient substitutions, and chat responses. AI-generated content is provided for informational and convenience purposes only.

• Not medical or dietary advice: nutrition information and meal recommendations are not a substitute for advice from a qualified registered dietitian, nutritionist, or physician. Always consult a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have a medical condition, allergy, or dietary restriction.
• Accuracy: calorie counts, macro estimates, and ingredient information may not be 100% accurate. Verify important nutritional data independently.
• Allergens: do not rely solely on MealSync to identify allergens in meals. Always read ingredient labels and consult a professional if you have food allergies.

The MealSync platform, including its design, software, meal database, and content created by us, is owned by MealSync and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Content you create on MealSync (your meal plans, notes, custom meals) remains yours. By using MealSync, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display that content to provide the service.

MealSync displays advertisements through Google AdSense on public-facing pages. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. Clicking on ads may take you to external sites governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEALSYNC IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MEALSYNC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO MEALSYNC IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. You may terminate by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use MealSync ceases immediately.

Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property violations.
